We're bringing more smiles to Milwaukee

Our future, gleaming, state-of-the-art dental clinic in the heart of Milwaukee means thousands of kids will get the routine dental healthcare they deserve.

So many kids in the Greater Milwaukee Area do not have a dental home because so few dental offices accept Medicaid. Kids with special and complex healthcare needs struggle even more to find a dental home.

That means tens of thousands of children here do not receive preventative, routine dental care. And this is a serious health problem.

We believe every child deserves a healthy smile.

When kids smile, they do so much more than light up a room. A healthy smile allows kids to express themselves freely, connect with friends and family, and get outside and play.

They can eat nutritious food and get the right amount of sleep. Kids can focus on learning and raise their hands with confidence. Good dental health allows kids to be kids.

The Beacon

Aurora Health Care, along with community partners including Community Smiles Dental, is creating The Beacon – a nearly $50M investment to establish a health and wellness hub at the former Wisconsin Avenue School at 27th Street and Wisconsin Avenue in Milwaukee. The near West Side of Milwaukee, where The Beacon will be located, has a 13-year life expectancy gap compared to just five miles away on the Northeast Side of Milwaukee. Community Smiles Dental is proud to join the work to change that because we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to achieve physical, mental and social wellness, and have the resources to do so in their own neighborhood.

There is no overall health without dental health.

A healthy smile positively impacts a child’s physical, social and mental wellbeing. Kids need preventative, routine dental healthcare to shine in every aspect of their lives.

We have created a model of community care that rivals the best private practices, and for nearly 20 years we’ve served thousands of kids and families at our Waukesha and Menomonee Falls clinics.

However, so many of our patients have to travel from Milwaukee, which is why we’re so excited to bring Community Smiles Dental so much closer to home.

Your support will help thousands of underserved children in our community. Because dental disease is the most common chronic disease of childhood. Untreated, it causes more than cavities and pain; it affects every aspect of a child’s health and life.
