Balance of clinical and administrative time to be determined as needs of organization and Director evolve, but anticipated to be 60% clinical, 40% administrative.
- Collaboratively envision and develop clinical programs consistent with CSD’s mission, vision, and core values within a nonprofit-operated care delivery system in partnership with CSD’s leadership team and board of directors.
- Lead CSD’s clinical teams to positively contribute to a culture that includes valuing and practicing community health and public dental health principles.
- Maintain and build on current collaborative models of care with primary care practices.
- Maintain and build on current models of care and collaboration with educational institutions.
- Lead CSD’s clinical teams to positively engage with student learners, understanding the importance and impact we can have on inspiring student learners to pursue careers as dental professionals and in a community health setting, such as Community Smiles Dental.
- Guide dentists and clinical teams to deliver consistent standards of care through the development, maintenance and implementation of formal clinic policies and procedures in alignment with CSD’s mission and vision.
- Assess current evidence based practices and research that would appropriately evolve CSD’s scope of care and work with CSD’s clinical team to adopt new procedures and practices to ensure high quality of care as technology, equipment and materials advance.
- Lead and direct CSD’s clinical quality improvement and patient safety initiatives in collaboration with CSD Clinical Managers providing clear guidance and direction on assessment of metrics, practices, and addressing concerns as they arise.
- In alignment with CSD’s mission, assess and address opportunities to positively impact production and earned revenue within CSD’s scope of care.
- In the area of administrative leadership:
- Serves as a member of the leadership team, contributing to organization-wide decision making and implementation of initiatives including operational budgeting, future growth and capital campaign planning, HR processes, and nonprofit management.
- Collaborate with CSD Clinical Managers to audit and create systems that ensure all patient records, charts, and all related documentation are maintained current and consistent with best practices in the dental care field as well as within all relevant laws and regulations.
- Collaborates with CSD Clinical Managers to ensure the organization meets or exceeds all governmental, regulatory and accreditation standards in all areas of day to day operations.
- Builds strong relationships with referring providers and sources, both who refer patients to CSD and who we refer patients to, to ensure we close the loop on referrals and increase access to care.
- Collaborates with CSD Clinical Managers and human resource team in support of human resource functions that apply to CSD clinical teams including recruiting and onboarding new team members, performance management, annual review processes, pay and benefits, professional development programs etc.
- Externally represents CSD in partnership with CSD’s VP of Operations to advocate for change in access to dental care in Wisconsin including the importance of improvements to public policy, public dental health, dental workforce development and legislative changes that impact the Wisconsin Medicaid program.
- Builds and maintains trusted strategic relationships with key stakeholders in the areas of technical colleges, dental schools, medical partners, organized dentistry groups and community partnerships that directly tie to and support CSD’s successful clinical operations and delivery of care.
